NYSS Freshman Pacing Filly’s visit Monticello Raceway

On Monday June 24, 2 year old pacing fillies will visit Monticello Raceway, for the majority of the entries this will mark their first pari mutual start.  4 divisions of Sire Stakes will be contested, each with a purse of $26,500, 2 heats of the Excelsior A ($15,000) and a lone heat of the Excelsior B ($6,800) 

Hidden Cove, will start from PP 3 for the Erv Miller stable, the son of American Ideal won his second Q in 1:56 – LQ 27.4, Marcus Miller will drive.   Bolt Of Speed (Matt Kakaley) has also been impressive thus far in his young career for trainer Scott Domenico, a winner his first qualifier in 1:56.3 and followed it up with a second place finish the following week. The median sale price for the starters in this event is $23,875. 

Race 7, second division of Sire Stakes, Fashion Hill has been installed as the morning line favorite after his last start where the American Ideal colt cut the mile to win in 1:55.2 – LQ 27.4 for trainer Robert Clearly and owner Tom Hill.  Dexter Dunn will visit Monticello Raceway for the first time in his career as he will drive Turnthefrownaround, the son of Roll With Joe will start from post position 5 for trainer Chris Ryder, he finished second to Fashion Hill last week in a Qualifier event. Sugaronthebeach will start from post 2, the son of Roll With Joe is owned by Crawford Farms of Syracuse, NY and trained by John Butenschoen and will be driven by Jason Bartlett. Sugaronthebeach finished second last start out in a Q event at Harrahs’s, pacing his mile in 1:58.2. 

Bolt of Beauty (PP3) will look to keep his winning streak alive in the 3rd heat for trainer Erv Miller, the son of Bolt The Duer won both of the qualifiers, the most recent effort coming at Harrahs were he scored in 1:56.1 with regular driver Marcus Miller at the helm.  Roll With Amy (C. Callahan) is the second choice, the son of Roll With Joe will start from post 2 for trainer John Buthenschoem, he to coming off a Q win at Harrahs in 1:57.2.  The average price for the starters in this race is $18,100.  

This final dash has 4 colts that have already crossed the wire first, Cash Roll  has been perfect this season winning all 3 of his Q’s at Harrington Raceway, the fastest mile was 1:56.4. Richard Ringle trains the son of Roll With Joe and will start from post 6 with Jim Morril Jr. In the bike.  Racine Bell (So Surreal) is trained by David Dewhurst for owners Chris & Dale Lawton of Verona, NY,

he earned his speed badge of 1:56.1 at Vernon Downs on June 7.   Jason Bartlett will drive and will start from the rail
