Chip Chip Conway nabs Open Trot

This week driver Jim Taggart Jr. decided to leave and cut the mile with Chip Chip Conway, when he uses that tactic it usually ends with good results, this afternoon the method worked out to his advantage as he scored a 3 length win over Cinnamon Stick (Greg Merton) in 1:57.3.  It was the 3rd win for the 6-year-old gelded son of Conway Hall who is trained by Gary Messenger.

Machlicious went down the road to win in a wire to wire score in 1:57.4 – $2.10 and notched his 7th win of the year, he is now tied with 3 others with the most wins on the grounds. The gelded son of Mach Three was driven to the victory by Greg Merton for trainer Candace Brandstatter, the win gives Brandstatter 28 wins for the season which puts her in seconds place for leading dash winning trainers, trailing leader Bo Sowers who leads the pack with 47 wins.

Artifact Hanover made it 2 in a row for trainer David Wiskow 1:56.14 – $8.80 – Ashley Eldred’s, Junior Dew scored for the 3rd time this season in 1:57.2 – $2.50 with Greg Merton at the helm.
