Sent off at odds of almost 10-1, Hestons Lucky Chip started from post 7 and went right for the lead uncontested and showed the way thru splits of 28.2, 59. Tiger Baron was the first to move at the half, with 5 in and 3 out going down the back side Mcgwire Sowers driving Meadowbrook Raider was 3 deep at the 5/8 marker while Hestons Lucky Chip still had 2 lengths on the pack at they hit the ¾ marker in 1:27.4. Aldrich still had the pedal to the metal and increased his lead to 3 lengths at the top of the lane to cruise to a win in 1:56.2 on a track rated as good due to the rain that fell midway through the card.
