Camwood take the Open Pace

This week’s $7,600 Open Pace drew a field of 7, when the gate left Baron Michael and Camwood were first away, Camwood was successful in getting to the front end, Baron Michael was not as fortunate and was forced the race the mile parked. Camwood continue to set the tempo through splits of 27.1, 56, before the half Mcgwire Sowers came first over with Rocks Fantasy who was making his first start in the Open after climbing the ladder through the ranks of conditioned pacers, first in of NW of 400, then NW 500, 650, 750, and 900. As they paced down the backside Camwood has 2 lengths on his contemporaries as they paced by the ¾ marker in 1:25, Rocks Fantasy was surging 3 deep on the far outside to try and gain ground on the pacesetter but was unable to as Camwood kept the 2 length advantage at the wire, scoring in 1:53.4. Finishing second was Rocks Fantasy (McGwire Sowers) followed by Hestons Lucky Chip (Bruce Aldrich) For Camwood it was his second consecutive win, 5th on the year in Open Company, the Chris Petrelli trainee was driven by Brandon Parker
