Bethel Fundraising DinnerBETHEL, NY (September 18, 2013) – The annual Wine Pairing and Fundraising Dinner at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has sold out prior to the event for the second year in a row.  160 guests will enjoy the dinner on Friday, October 4, in the exquisite setting of the Event Gallery at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.   As a not-for-profit cultural organization committed to inspiring expression, creativity and innovation through the arts, Bethel Woods will use the funds to raise awareness for youth initiatives provided through education, community outreach and museum programs.

Guests will enjoy an eclectic selection of fine Joseph Carr and Josh Cellars wines courtesy of Deutsch Brands. In addition to information about wine and food pairing, guests will savor culinary delights, regional cheeses, an array of delectable desserts, and live music. The evening will also feature both silent and live auction items including a tour of the NY Stock Exchange with Gary Kaminsky, a Broadway show and one night at the NYC’s London Hotel, high-performance driving at Monticello Motor Club’s private track, and private dinners at Catskill estates. Among other items, the silent auction will feature a plethora of exceptional wines, dinner at the famed Mohonk Mountain House and Glenmere mansion.

Empire Resorts, Inc. who owns and operates Monticello Casino & Raceway, a harness racing track and casino located in Monticello, New York, proudly presented Bethel Woods with a $25,000 check to underwrite this event. Charles Degliomini, Executive Vice President, Government Relations and Corporate Communications explains, “We look forward to building a long relationship with Bethel Woods and are supportive of their efforts to make a positive impact upon the lives of children and young adults through educational, community outreach, and museum programming.” Along with EPR Properties, Empire Resorts is anticipated to create a world-class, four season destination resort and multi-use residential community at the site of the former Concord Resort, reigniting the Catskill tourist industry which historically supported the regional economy.

Bethel Woods’ Chief Executive Officer, Darlene Fedun, adds, “We rely on the generous financial support of individuals, businesses and foundations to sustain and grow our curriculum and expand arts engagement for youth and families in our region.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will fund education, community and museum programming at Bethel Woods. We are grateful to Empire Resorts, Deutsch Brands and to all of our donors for their support.”

The five course dinner will be prepared by Bethel Woods food service partner Ovations, led by Executive Chefs Robert St. Lawrence and Mark Woinoski who won a gold medal at the third annual “Taste Exposure and Culinary Challenge” in 2012.  Also for the second year in a row, the dinner is co-chaired by Tim McCausland, Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Orange County Trust Company, also an event sponsor, and Dan Teplesky, Superintendent, Monticello Central School District. With their support, the wine pairing dinner became a sought after event.
