Monticello Raceway hosts Sire Stakes for 3 year old pacing fillies

New York Sire Stakes program returns to Monticello Raceway on Monday July 15 as 3 -Year Old Pacing Fillies takes the stage, this is the 5th of the 8 leg series of the New York Sire Stakes program, 4 of the 5 top point earners for this age, sex & gait are in to go, missing is the #1-point leader and earner, Zero Tolerance who is racing Saturday at the Meadowlands in the Mistletoe Shalee.

On tap are 2 divisions of Sire Stakes, each vying for a purse of $56,500, each dash is a 5 horse field, the first dash is race 2 on the program, DD Delicious (PP2) a bay filly by Art Major is trained by Travis Alexander, Matt Kakaley to drive. She won a division of Sire Stakes at Tioga Downs where she scored in 1:54.2, she has picked up a check in every start this year. DD Delicious is 3rd in the point standings. Chase You (PP5) makes the jump from the Excelsior A class, the American Ideal filly has dominated that division and won 3 in that class, she has earned $81,550 thus far this season.   Chase You is trained by Michelle Crawford for owner Ted Cupp of Ovid NY, Scott Zeron will drive.  Meghan Lynn (Joe Bongiorno) will score from post 4, Jenn Bongiorno trains the American Ideal filly for owner Crawford Farms.

So Awesome (PP3) is second in the point standings with 137 points and will look to close the gap on leader Zero Tolerance with 150 points.  So Awesome finished 2nd last year in the NYSS Final at Yonkers last fall, she has not finished off the board this year, her slate includes 1 win, 3 place finishes and 1 show performance in this class. Tyler Buter will drive the So Surreal filly; she is trained by ScottDimonenico.  JK American Beauty (American Ideal) will start from the rail for trainer Nancy Johansson, she took her lifetime mark of 1:51 at the Big M.  She won a Sire Stake heat at Buffalo Raceway in 1:54 she is owned by 3 Brothers Stable of New York NY.

Also, on the card are 2 divisions of Excelsior A – ($15,000) and a lone heat of the Excelsior B ($6,800) Post time for the 8 race card is 12:50pm
