R1 Hestons Lucky Chip

It was a double for Bruce Aldrich Jr and Laura Perino as they won both half’s of the early Daily Double, first up was Hestons Lucky Chip scoring in the $6,900 Open Pace.  Nui Ba Den N departed from his usual tactic from sitting off the pace, this week he was first off the gate to cut the mile through splits of 27.3, 56.4, 1:25.4.  Barnabas made a bold 3 wide move at the 5/8 marker to take aim on the leaders, through the lane it was a solid stretch drive between Hestons Lucky Chip and Barnabas and the tiring Nui Ba Den N, but Hestons Lucky Chip got up for the win in 1:55.1 – $10.00. It was the 3rd win of the year for the 6-year-old of Heston Blue Chip who is owned by Richard W. Dieck from North Norwich, NY. Finishing second was Barnabas (Greg Merton) followed by Nui Ba Den N (Brandon Parker) Perino and Aldrich won the second half of the double with Bet On Yourself in 2:01 to notch his first win of the season.
