Daamericansky Takes Open in 1:53

On paper it looked like Daamericansky would be racing for second money, but he had something to say about that. True to form, he cut the mile while the heavy favorite KJ Hunter was content to sit back, making his first over move at the half.  Daamericansky had a pair of lengths over the pack at every station, Jim Taggart Jr. driving KJ Hunter was never able to close the distance on the frontrunner and had to settle for second as Daamericansky tripped the timer in 1:53 – $8.60 to earn his impressive 13th win on the year for the Adam Adamczyk trainee, Some Deal Hanover finished third (B. Aldrich Jr.)

Adam Adamczyk is currently third in the standings for leading trainer with 44 winners hailing from his barn, Gary Messenger is in first with 65 wins with Laura Aldrich hot on his heels with 64.

After a pair of winning drives on Monday, Joe Chindano Jr. came back and scored another driving double aboard Always Rosie in 1:59.3 and Amelia Ashley in 2:04 – $3.40.  Jimmy Devaux and Murray Bassen teamed up for a pair of back-to-back wins with Trevor’s Ace in 1:55.4 -$3.10 and then with Bestgirlfriendever in 2:01.1 – $5.40.
