R5 Yankee On The Move

In spite of having 3 different trainers in 3 weeks it did not deter Yankee On The Move from reaching the winners circle, starting from the rail in this week’s Open Pace Michael Merton was content to let Heart Of Dixie (J. Devaux) cut the mile with Trevor’s Ace (A Moeykens) in tow with splits of 28.4, 58.  Heading near the 5/8 mile marker Yankee On The Move was the first to tip to the outside followed by Beebeetee (T. Merton) and were 2 deep. Heart Of Dixie was barely hanging there at the next panel in 1:27.2 and started to back through the field at this point pinning Trevor’s Ace along the rail with nowhere to go. Yankee and Beebeetee were advancing on the outside past the tired leaders, in spirited stretch drive Yankee On The Move held off a fast closing Beebeetee in 1:56.1 – $6.20, it was 1 of Anthony Reginas 2 winners on the day with the with Viviens Delight (DiBenedetto) in the finale in 1:59 – $4.10.

Last week Andrew Adamczyk had one of his best days in his young career when he won with 3 horses that he trains, this afternoon had a back-to-back driving and training double aboard A Boy Named Suuz in a 3 length win in 1:55.4 -$3.40 & Sportskeeper in an identical 1:55.4 3.- $3.20.

Michael Merton had a driving double on the card with Pinbushdragonforlife in the opener in 1:57.4-  $17.40 who scored her first lifetime win for trainer and American At Heart 1:59.4 – $9.70 for trainer John Stubits.
