The battle is on for leading Trainer

The Battle for the title of Leading Trainer is on between Gary Messenger and Laura Aldrich, going into today’s races they were both tied with 86 wins.  Gary Messenger won a pair today with Laura garnering 1 winner. The Scoreboard now reads Messenger 88 vs Aldrich 87

Bruce Aldrich led all drivers with 3 winning drives on the 9 race card, the triple was good enough to overtake Mike Merton for the show position for leading dash drivers. Leading driver Jim Taggart Jr. had a double on the card.

Owner Gary Haas enjoyed a win with Come Zoom With Me (Aldrich Jr.) 1:57.2 – $6.50, it was almost a double as his Caroline James was just nosed out in 1:57.1 to Meadowbrook Krista.

Trainer Steve Ray scored with Marvin B Swift (Aldrich Jr.) in 2:00.2 – $8.20, owner Jeff Van Dyke was on hand for the winner’s circle.  Shoot The Thrill notched his first win of the year for trainer Monica Eriksen (Sowers) in 2:02.3 – $12.80.

With not much Harness Racing being offered on today’s simulcasting signal, Monticello Raceway enjoyed the limelight and handled $578,594.
